11-member sub-committee on TRC bill formed


Kathmandu, May 19: An 11-member sub-committee has been formed to discuss the bill related to transitional justice.

The meeting of law, justice and human rights committee of the House of Representatives (HoR) held today formed the sub-committee.

Lawmakers Suwash Chandra Nembang, Mahesh Kumar Bartaula, Ramesh Lekha, Jeevan Pariyar, Susheela Thing, Santhosh Pariyar, Goma Labh Sapkota, Purna Bahadur Gharti, Ranju Kumari Jha, Dhruba Bahadur Pradhan, Sher Bahadur Kunwar are in the committee headed by Mangal Prasad Gupta as the senior most lawmaker by age.

Sub-committee head Gupta shared that the sub-committee will submit report to the committee within three weeks by holding clause-wise discussion with the stakeholders and those who have registered amendment on the bill to amend the Commission on Enforced Disappearance Act and the Truth and Reconciliation Commission Act 2071 BS.

The sub-committee will fix its coordinator itself and determine its work procedures.
