Kalimati Police Beat Sealed After Two Police Officials Tested COVID-19 Positive

Kathmandu, May 20: The Metropolitan Police Beat, Kalimati has been sealed off after two police officials working there tested positive for COVID-19 on May 19.

The police division and women cell which lies within the premises of Metropolitan Police Beat have also been sealed, informed Rugam Kunwar, Chief of the Kalimati beat.

COVID-19 infection was detected in a sub inspector and a police constable in PCR test done at National Public Health Laboratory (NPHL), Teku.

It has been said that women and children cell and traffic police office were also located within the Kalimati beat, with around 200 police officials.

“Both the infected policemen were attending their duty of patrolling the Kalimati area in civil dress,” said Kunwar.

Kunwar said that a team of Health Ministry would collect swab samples of all police officials working in the beat today.

Police from other beats have been deployed in Kalimati.
