COVID-19 Update: 2,120 New Cases, 2,044 Recoveries, Tally Hits 84,570

Kathmandu, Oct. 3: The Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) on Saturday confirmed 2,120 new cases of COVID-19.

In 12,978 Real-Time Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) tests done in the last 24 hours, as many as 2,120 persons were found with the novel coronavirus infection, informed Dr. Jageshwor Gautam, spokesperson at the MoHP in the daily press briefing today.

Meanwhile, some 2,044 COVID-19 patients staying at home isolation or receiving treatment at various institutional isolations across the nation recovered from the infection in the last 24 hours. The recovery rate now stands at 74.1 per cent.

Currently, there are 21,302 active cases of COVID-19 of which, 9,773 patients are in institutional isolation and 11,529 are in home isolation. Some 4,273 persons, mostly those who had returned from abroad, are placed in quarantine.

Of the active patients, 217 are admitted to the ICU and 31 are receiving treatment with the ventilator facility.

With this, the national COVID-19 tally has reached 84,570 including 62,740 cases of recovery and 528 death cases.
