2017 poll result to be a basis for seat allocation among ruling parties

Kathmandu, Aug. 15: The seat allocation task force of the ruling alliance has decided to include the result of the 2017 parliament election as a basis for sharing constituencies among the ruling parties for the upcoming election slated for November 20.

Talking to the journalists after the meeting, Minister for Communication and Information Technology Gyanendra Bahadur Karki said that the meeting dwelt on criteria for seat allocation among the ruling parties for the polls.

“We have decided to also include the votes the parties obtained in the 2017 election in addition to recently held local poll while allocating seats,” he said.

The next meeting of the task force is scheduled for Wednesday, Aug. 17.

A meeting of the ruling parties on Sunday had directed the task force to complete the seat allocation at the earliest.
