Kathmandu, Oct. 14: A total of 47 people have lost their lives due to Dengue across the country so far.

According to the Epidemiology and Disease Control Division (EDCD), the death toll from Dengue reached 47 so far.

Dr Gokarna Dahal, Chief of the Vector Borne Disease Control Section of EDCD said that so far 38,918 people have tested positive for Dengue from 77 districts to date.

Former Director of EDCD and Public Health Expert Dr Baburam Marasini has said that with the decline in mountain and hilly regions cases of Dengue infections may increase in the districts of Terai.

According to him, the mosquitos that transmit Dengue couldn’t survive in too hot weather so, the infections were seen low in the Terai region so far but with the decline of hot weather, Dengue cases might increase towards the Terai region from now onwards.
