Swab Collection, Testing Of Suncity Apartment Residents Underway

Kathmandu, Apr. 15: Swab collection of residents of Suncity Apartment at Kageshwori Manohara Municipality-9 where two residents had tested positive for SARS-COV-2 has been undergoing swiftly.

Krishnahari Thapa, Mayor of the Municipality, informed that swab testing of 200 people residing in the same building where the COVID-19 infected family was staying would be carried out on Wednesday.

According to Thapa, the health workers of Sukraraj Tropical and Infectious Disease Hospital, Teku has been collecting swab samples by setting up three desks within the premises of the apartment, in coordination with the Municipality.

“The pace of the Rapid Diagnostic Test (RDT) of the remaining residents of the apartment would depend on the result of 200 swab samples collected today,” said Thapa.

The government had sealed the apartment after 3 persons of a family were suspected to be infected from the virus in RDT and two of them had tested positive by PCR method.
