Kathmandu, May 6: Chairman of the CPN (Maoist Center), a major party in the ruling alliance, Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has termed the local level election slated for May 13 as a battle between the progressive and regressive forces.
He said so while addressing a joint election rally of the ruling parties held at Ratna Park in Kathmandu today.
Chairman Prachadna, also former Prime Minister, remarked there are two alliances in the country at present.
“One, the ruling coalition is for the constitution, change, and progress whereas the other coalition is against the progress and change,” he said.
This is the election where you have to make your line clear- whether you are for progress or regress. The ruling alliance is for progress and we all have to embrace the election symbols such as sickle and hammer, tree, pen, or umbrella, he said.
“Those who support the sickle and hammer should also vote for the tree and vice versa,” said the Maoist Center Chairman.
Highlighting cooperation, unity and agreement as to the need of the hour, he said the ruling coalition was formed after a huge effort.
Chairman Prachanda also pointed out the need for keeping the ruling alliance intact for long.
