Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, who is on a week-long official visit to China, held a meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping on Saturday.
They held bilateral talks following the conclusion of the opening ceremony of the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou, according to Ramesh Malla, the chief personal secretary to the prime minister.
During the meeting, Xi stressed that China attaches great importance to China-Nepal relations and is willing to strengthen the docking of development strategies with Nepal to promote continuous new progress in bilateral relations.
Likewise, Dahal said that Nepal supports a series of important concepts and initiatives proposed by President Xi and is willing to work with China to promote the development of the international order in a more just and reasonable direction, safeguard the common interests of developing countries, and promote the building of a community with a shared future for mankind, according to Chinese ambassador to Nepal Chen Song.
The meeting was followed by delegation-level talks, said Malla.

Dahal reached Hangzhou, China on Saturday to attend the opening ceremony of the 19th Asian Games. He was received by Chinese Minister for General Administration of Sport and Chinese Olympic Committee President Gao Zhidan, Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Chen Song, and Nepali Ambassador to China Bishnu Pukar Shrestha.
Dahal left for China after completing his engagements in New York, including his address to the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly.
The prime minister is leading a Nepali delegation including Foreign Affairs Minister NP Saud, Foreign Secretary Bharat Raj Paudyal and other senior government officials.
He will leave for Beijing on Sunday and will meet his Chinese counterpart Li Chiang on Monday.
