Valley rivers swell after heavy rainfall

Kathmandu, Oct 4: Rivers in Kathmandu Valley have swollen following continuous heavy rainfall since early Saturday morning.

The rising water levels have increased the risk of flooding in several low-lying areas of the Valley.

Authorities have urged residents living near riverbanks to remain alert as the downpour has intensified, raising fears of inundation and erosion.

According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division, heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected to continue in the coming hours, which could further swell rivers and streams across the Capital.
