Palpa, Sept 27: The death toll in Palpa landslide has reached five. Deputy Superintendent of Police at the District Police Office, Bhim Lal Bhattarai, said the bodies of Lil Bahadur Gharti Magar, 75, of Mathagadhi rural municipality-3, his 17-year-old daughter Dina Gharti, and Moti Lal Gharti’s 15-year-old daughter Jharana Gharti, were recovered.
Earlier this morning, Sher Bahadur Chidi, 75, of Mathagadhi rural municipality-2, and a 59-year-old Krishna Kumari Saru, of Robdikot rural municipality died in the landslide.
Chidi was rescued in injured condition and sent to District Hospital Palpa where doctors pronounced him dead. The body of Saru was extracted from the landslide debris.
The landslide had completely buried the house of Lil Bahadur in the night. Locals and security personnel extracted three bodies from the house buried in the landslide.
All the five bodies have been kept at District Hospital, Palpa, for post-mortem, added Bhattarai.(RSS)
