Syangja’s 60-Year Old Succumbs To COVID-19, Death Toll Hits 14

Kathmandu, June 8: Nepal has recorded 14th COVID-19 death Monday.

A 60-year old COVID-19 patient of Walling, Syangja who was receiving treatment at Pokhara Academy of Health Sciences breathed his last today morning.

He had been identified with the virus infection on Sunday.

According to Gandaki State Health Directorate, the deceased had returned from India, along with his wife on June 3 and he was admitted to a hospital in Pokhara on June 4.

“Since he was diabetic and a kidney patient, we decided to place him in pre-isolation in Pokhara before his COVID-19 test report came out,” said Kamal Pandey, Walling Municipality health chief.

Likewise, Dr Bishwo Bandu Sharma, Director, Gandaki State Health Directorate said that he was immediately shifted to isolation ward after he tested positive for the virus.

Dr Sharma said that the tracing of those who had come in direct contact with the deceased had started.
