COVID-19 Update: 303 New Cases, 154 From Kathmandu

Kathmandu, Apr 11: The Ministry of Health and Population on Friday confirmed 303 new cases of COVID-19, taking the nation’s novel coronavirus tally to 280,028.

“In 3,125 Real-Time Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) tests done in the last 24 hours, 303 persons were found infected with SARS-CoV-2,” informed the Health Ministry in the regular press briefing.

Of the newly infected, 154 were from the Kathmandu valley, and of them, 11 are from Bhaktapur, 15 from Lalitpur and 128 from Kathmandu.

Currently, there are 2,615 active cases of COVID-19 across the nation and 84 people mostly those who had returned from abroad, are placed in quarantine.

Meanwhile, 141 COVID-19 patients receiving treatment in institutional isolation or staying in home isolation recovered from the infection in the last 24 hours.

Nepal has now recorded 274,027 cases of recovery and the recovery rate is at 98 per cent.

A COVID-19 patient succumbed to the virus in the last 24 hours, taking the national death toll from COVID-19 to 3040.

Presently, 2,961 infected are in home or institutional isolation while 83 suspected are in the quarantine. So far, 2,312,901 PCR tests have been conducted in the country.
