SC annuls cabinet expansion by PM Oli, 20 ministers dismissed from their posts

KATHMANDU, June 22: In what appears to be another blow to Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, the Supreme Court (SC) on Tuesday invalidated the cabinet expansion made by him following the dissolution of the House of Representatives (HoR).

With this decision of the apex court, as many as 20 ministers have been removed from their posts.

A joint bench of Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher JBR and Justice Prakash Kumar Dhungana passed the verdict to invalidate the cabinet expansion by PM Oli.

Earlier, senior advocate Dinesh Triphati had filed a writ petition at the SC against the cabinet expansion by the caretaker PM Oli.
