Active caseload crosses 3,500 mark, 568 new cases in 24 hrs

Kathmandu, July 25: With 568 new cases (RT-PCR and antigen tests combined) of COVID-19 confirmed on Monday, the nation’s novel coronavirus tally has reached 984,075.

In 3,084 Real-Time Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) tests done in the past 24 hours, a total of 453 people were found infected with SARS-CoV-2, informed the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) in its regular update on Monday. Likewise, the virus infection was detected in 115 people in 1,716 antigen tests performed in the last 24 hours.

Currently, there are 3,534 active cases of COVID-19 across the nation of which, 127 are admitted to institutional isolation while 3,407 patients are placed in home isolation. Out of which 27 are in ICU and two are on ventilator support.

Meanwhile, 95 COVID-19 patients receiving treatment in institutional isolation or staying in home isolation recovered from the infection in the last 24 hours.

Nepal has now recorded 968,584 cases of recovery, and the recovery rate is at 98.4 per cent.

One fatality related to COVID-19 was recorded in the last 24 hours, according to the MoHP. So far, Nepals’ COVID-19 death toll has reached 11,957.
