Kathmandu, May 8: A meeting of the Constitutional Council today has decided to recommend Acting Chief Justice Hari Krisha Kari for the Chief Justice (CJ) of the Supreme Court (SC).
A meeting held at Singha Durbar presided over by Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ among with Speaker of the House of Representatives (HoR) Devraj Ghimire, National Assembly Chairperson Ganesh Prasad Timilsina, Deputy Speaker of HoR Indira Ranamagar, Minister of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Dhanraj Gurung and leader of the main opposition party CPN-UML Chairperson member of the House of Representatives KP Sharma Oli recommended Karki for Chief Justice (CJ).
The Council’s meeting unanimously recommended Karki’s name for the CJ, National Assembly Chairman Ganesh Prasad Timilsina confirmed.
