Death toll Rolpa jeep accident reaches 20

Kathmandu, April 30: The death toll in the Rolpa jeep accident has reached 20.

The vehicle, traveling from Rukum (East), met with the accident at Jaljala in Thawang Rural Municipality-1, Rolpa district.

Spokesperson of the District Police Office, Rolpa, Police Inspector Sunil Thapa, said that the jeep (Lu 1 Jha 4167) veered some 800 meters down a cliff from the road, causing a fatal accident.

Inspector Thapa said that the rain has created a hassle in the rescue operation.

Rescue operations are currently underway, according to Nepal Police.

The identity of the deceased is yet to be ascertained.
