By Kedar Timilsina, Kavre, Sept 23: Vehicular movement in The BP highway across the Kavre district has been restricted at night, from 5 pm to 5 am, for four days starting from Thursday.
The decision has been made in the wake of the weather forecast of possible heavy rainfall for the four days.
A meeting of the district security committee held under the chairmanship of the Chief District Officer (CDO), Gopal Kumar Adhikari, on Wednesday also decided to ensure preparedness to mitigate disaster risk.
The district police will take decision to ban vehicles movement during daytime depending upon the road conditions in case of heavy rainfall, according to CDO Adhikari.
The meeting further decided to continue alerting people and settlement in river banks and in risky areas about the risks of floods and landslides.
