Oxygen Cylinders, Ventilators Arrive From China


Kathmandu, May 12: Four hundred oxygen cylinders, 10 ventilators and oxygen concentrators arrived in Kathmandu from China on Tuesday.
These health materials required for the treatment of the coronavirus infected patients were provided by the Chinese government in grant assistance.

A widebody aircraft of the Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) landed at the Tribhuvan International Airport carrying these health materials at 4:00 pm on Tuesday.

The flight number RA-4251 of the widebody aircraft had left for China Monday morning, Sulekha Mishra, deputy spokesperson of the NAC, said.

According to Mishra, the aircraft returned home carrying 27 tons of health materials, including 400 empty oxygen cylinders.

China has already committed to providing 20, 000 oxygen cylinders to Nepal. Out of 20,000 cylinders, the government has been planning to bring 2,000 cylinders by air and remaining via the roadways.
