Ruling parties likely to finalise seat sharing in two days

Kathmandu, Aug. 23: The ruling coalition has expedited its efforts to finalise seat sharing in the November 20 poll.

The Task Force formed to finalise the seat-sharing among the five ruling parties held a meeting today.

Gyanendra Bahadur Karki, a member of the task force and also Minister for Communication and Information Technology, said that today’s meeting moved positively.

He said that a situation of uncertainty about whether there is a problem in seat sharing among the ruling parties will be clear very soon.

“As the coordinator of the task force, Krishna Prasad Situala has been ill. There are some issues the coordinator has to brief the meeting. The task force and the leadership are close to an agreement. We have discussed different modalities of seat sharing,” he said after the meeting at Baluwatar.

The leaders may as well hold talks individually so as to finalise the seat sharing, he said.

Him Lal Puri, leader of ruling Rashtriya Janamorcha and also a member of the task force, said that efforts were being made to finalise seat sharing within two days.

The task force will hold a meeting tomorrow afternoon, he said.
