Ex-Minister Baskota files defamation case against Swiss company agent Mishra

KATHMANDU, Feb 28: Former Minister for Communication and Information technology Gokul Prasad Baskota has moved the court seeking action against those involved in defaming him.

Baskota on Friday registered the libel and defamation case at the Kathmandu district court seeking justice via his representative, he tweeted.

He has denied allegations against him.

In his complaint, the former minister mentioned the name of the main defendant Bijay Mishra whose voice was supposed to be recorded in the leaked audio in which Minister Baskota is heard bargaining for bribe money during security printing press procurement deal.

Following the leakage of audio, Baskota stepped down from his post on moral grounds on February 20.
